  • Are there any discounts available?
Absolutely, We offer discounts for: prepaying the entire season referring a friend bundling all three services (ie tick, mosquito and deer services together) Please contact us for more info.
  • Does your all-natural solutions really work?
Yes! We only use proven and independently tested products to ensure we are providing the most effective all-natural solutions that beat the traditional synthetic chemicals. We can never promise that you will never again see a tick or mosquito, our services will kill on contact and build up a barrier around your property. Results example: A 24 hour study showed that we had 100% knockdown of mosquitoes within the first 4 hours, and 100% knockdown of both mosquitoes and ticks in the first 24 hours. As compared to the common synthetic (and potentially toxic chemical) Bifen IT which took 48 hours to reach 100% knockdown of both mosquitoes and ticks. Also, a residual life study showed that we had a 28-day, 100% knockdown of mosquitoes. For ticks, we showed an 80% knockdown rate on the 14th day, but since ticks do not migrate like mosquitoes do, that is why a 21-28 day retreat rate works perfectly. In summary, we are more effective and safer than the most common synthetic (and potentially toxic chemical) Bifen IT. Oh, and we have a no-risk re-apply guarantee to ensure you have the best protection and service. If you ever have an issue with one of our treatments, let us know and we’ll come back and re-spray.
  • How long do I wait before going outside after you service my yard?
Since we only use all-natural solutions, it is completely safe to be outside while we are spraying and immediately when we are done. For all of our services, we do recommend that you stay off of your property until the products applied have had a chance to dry (15-20 minutes on an average day).
  • How much will it cost to spray my yard for mosquitos and ticks
We charge the same for both tick and/or mosquito control. The price depends on the size of the treatable area and how dense it is with plant life. Our quotes are free and generally do not require us to come to your home. We utilize satellite mapping technology that allows us to calculate the square footage of your treatable property and can usually provide a quote on the same day.
  • What products are you using for mosquito and tick control?
We only use EPA 25b all-natural products. These products are safe, proven and comprised of essential oils and soap. These products kills ticks & mosquitoes on contact and provides residual protection once dry.
  • When do you start spraying for ticks?
Ticks are active anytime temperatures are above freezing and there is no snow cover on the ground. Because of this, we begin treatments in early spring once the weather is favorable for tick activity usually around mid-March/early-April.
  • When do you start spraying for mosquitos?
We begin mosquitoes treatments once they become active in the spring. Mosquito activity starts once temperatures are consistently above 50 degrees.
  • When can tick treatments be stopped?
We discontinue treatments once the tick activity has drastically been reduced due to weather conditions. Ticks are breeding late into the fall, so spraying until activity has decreased reduces the number of eggs that will be laid on or near your property. That means spraying until temperatures are consistently below freezing, or there is snow cover on the ground.
  • When can mosquito treatments be stopped?
We discontinue mosquito treatments once the threat of mosquito activity has subsided. This is usually after the first hard frost sets in.
  • Can I end tick treatment early?
You can end your tick treatment at any time! However, we do not recommend stopping early as discontinuing treatments before deer ticks become dormant can allow for ticks hitching a ride on host animals to fall off on your property and establish a foothold when they lay their 2000-3000 eggs in the Spring.
  • Can I end mosquito treatment early?
You can end your season at any time! However, we recommend continuing until the first frost to reduce the threat of contracting mosquito-borne illnesses such as EEE or West Nile. Mosquitoes lay eggs in the fall until temperatures are below 50 degrees.
  • Can the rain wash away the tick and mosquito treatments?
No, our products have sticking agents in them that are made from coconut fatty acids, which help bind the product to plant foliage. Our products only need about 15-25 minutes to set, and light rain will not wash away the product, as long as there is not a downpour during or within 30-45 minutes after the treatment, it will remain effective.
  • How often should I spray my yard against mosquitos and ticks?
We recommend treating your property at least once every 28-days. For properties with heavy tick and mosquito presence and ideal tick and mosquito habitat, it can be beneficial to increase the frequency.
  • Do ticks die during the winter?
Unfortunately no. Deer ticks have a two-year life cycle and will survive winter by hiding in leaf litter and becoming dormant. Deer ticks can come out of dormancy anytime the weather is favorable during the winter months.
  • How long it takes to spray my yard against ticks and mosquitos
Our tick and/or mosquito application generally takes between 15-30 minutes to complete but depends greatly on property size and landscape density.
  • Does your products kills mosquito and ticks or just repel them?
Our products both kill and repel ticks and mosquitoes from the treated area. The essential oils in our tick and mosquito control products kill ticks and mosquitoes on contact and provide a residual repellent effect. That means that ticks and mosquitoes that come in contact with treated plants after the product has dried will die.
  • Is there any other pest control you provide?
We only specialize in tick, mosquito and deer repellent services. This ensures these pests get our highest level of attention and we can continue to develop innovative solutions to protect your family and home.
  • Do you provide commercial pets control as well?
Absolutely! We proudly service commercial accounts, both large and small.
  • Do you treat outdoors events and weddings agains mosquitos and ticks?
Yes! For most events, we recommend a treatment one week prior and a second the day before your event.
  • Do you treat schools and daycare facilities against mosquitos and ticks.
Absolutely! We proudly service schools and daycares and can accommodate the student schedule to provide applications during off-hours. All of our tick and mosquito products are either EPA 25b or NOP-compliant, which means they are permitted for use around schools and align with IPM best practices.
  • Is your pest control bee friendly?
Yes! Especially when compared to the traditional neurotoxins. The products we use will not kill bees through transport back to the hive. Drift and overspray are also unlikely to have any adverse effect. That said, our Field Technicians are trained for bee safety and avoid sensitive areas, such as flowering plants, as an extra precaution.
  • What happens if I will see any mosquitos or ticks between applications?
While some activity is expected due to environmental factors, we strive for an 80-90% reduction which will improve as residual product builds on your property. That said, if you feel at any time that you are not getting proper control, we will come back out at no charge to evaluate your property and provide a touchup application.
  • How often will you be spraying my property?
We recommend a 28-day frequency for best results because the product will bio-degrade roughly within that time frame. Other customized frequencies are offered upon request.
  • Does this treatment really work?
Yes! We only use proven and independently tested products to ensure we are providing the most effective all-natural solutions that beat the traditional synthetic chemicals. We can never promise that you will never again see a tick or mosquito, our services will kill on contact and build up a barrier around your property. • Do you treat indoor pests?
We only treats for ticks, mosquitoes and deer. We do not treat for mice, raccoons, bees, or any other pest, we do not treat for pests inside of homes or buildings.
  • Do you offer synthetic alternatives?
No! We only use all-natural products at GreenScreen Pest Solutions. We are invested in the health of our local communities and pride ourselves on giving people a natural alternative to toxic synthetic chemicals.
  • If my Town offers to spray for mosquitos and ticks then why should I hire you?
Treating for mosquitoes is specific to each location. When a town uses sprays to eliminate mosquitoes they only affect those populations that are near the truck/treatment itself. GreenScreen Pest Solutions works hard to understand your property and treat those areas near your home or business that are most susceptible to mosquitoes, which are arguably the populations that pose more of a threat to you than those being sprayed by your town.
  • Seeing deer is nice, why would I want to repel them?
While deer are beautiful creatures, they can cause large financial and aesthetic damage to one’s landscape. Deer are also a preferred host for ticks that can fall off into your property where they can then lay up to 3000 eggs. Male ticks will actually wait on a deer until a female is picked up to mate.
  • Can the pest control solutions actually hurt the deer?
Not at all! Our deer repellent service deters deer from eating your landscape by applying all-natural repellents to specific plants on your property. These all-natural repellents trigger a flight response in the deer through a scent of danger. The odor is not noticeable to humans once the product has dried. In addition, our products make the plants distasteful and discourage browsing.
  • Do you offer deer repellent services all year round?
Yes! Unlike mosquitoes and ticks, deer are active all year round. The average adult deer can eat over five pounds of food a day. That includes the winter months which our all-natural deer repellent will protect your landscaping from deer destruction.
